Mapex Perak To Showcase 2,543 Units Of Houses Worth RM2.704 Billion

Last update: 14/05/2014IPOH, May 14 (Bernama) -- The Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (REHDA) Perak will offer a total of 2,543 units of houses worth RM2.704 bilion at its Malaysia Property Expo (Mapex) Perak 2014.

REHDA Perak Chairman Datuk Francis Lee Yew Hean said the event, to be held at Stadium Indera Mulia for three days beginning this Friday, has attracted 22 developers.

"The properties to be showcased include single- and double-storey terrace, single- and double-storey semi-detached, single-storey bungalow, double-storey shop office, three-storey semi-detached and condominium units," he said at a media briefing here Wednesday.

He said REHDA Perak will also hold free public lectures in English as well as co-organise the state's 'Biggest Car and Bike Fair' in the open space outside the stadium.

Lee said the residental property market in Perak has been on an upward trend since last year, achieving price increases of 10 per cent to 16.5 per cent, with the state's total residential housing stock as at Dec 31, 2013 at 407,185 units.

The 8,766 residential housing units delivered in the state last year is almost unchanged from 2012's 8,673 units, he said, adding Perak ranked ninth among the 13 states in value of transacted residential properties in 2013, slightly ahead of Kedah, Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan.

"With laggard pricing and continuously increasing cost of delivery of residential properties, property prices in Perak will continue to be on an upward trend in Perak in the coming years," he said, citing the state population's high percentage of young people and a growing middle class.
