SCM Plans To Manage An Additional 2,000 Property Units

Last update: 25/04/2017

KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 (Bernama) -- SCM Property Services Sdn Bhd is looking into managing an additional 2,000 property units in various segments this year.

Chief Operating Officer (Commercial) Raymond Cheah said SCM was currently managing about 10,000 property units across 22 projects nationwide, of which 90 per cent were owned by UEM Sunrise Bhd.

SCM, the property management and maintenance arm of UEM Sunrise, began managing properties not owned by UEM Sunrise since early this year in order to expand its reach in the property management and maintenance segment.

"We've got a lot of inquiries (from property developers), asking us to manage their properties, but we cannot take all the inquiries at once, we need to do due diligence first," he told reporters after the signing of a real estate management services agreement between SCM and eight real estate agencies here, today.

Under the agreement, SCM would provide a systematic and complete range of professional services, which include building management, maintenance, security, insurance management, renovation management, capital improvements and customer service.

UEM Sunrise Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Majid said the three-year agreement was an important step towards catering to the overarching needs of stakeholders.

"We strive to deliver quality developments that are sustainable and holistic. These mean we need to go beyond good planning and design by offering complementary services, such as real estate management that will help make the living experience within our built-environment much more fulfilling," he added.

The eight real estate agencies are Asia Land Realty Sdn Bhd, CDB Properties Sdn Bhd, Cityspace Properties, Esprit Estate Agen Sdn Bhd, Kiara Realty, Metro Homes Sdn Bhd, Reapfield Properties Sdn Bhd, and Worldmart Properties.
