PETALING JAYA, May 11 (Bernama) -- Some 21,672 housing units from 25 projects with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM2.3 billion, will be up for sale at the 1Malaysia People’s Housing Scheme (PR1MA) Open Day (POD) nationwide this year.

Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia chief executive officer, Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias said 81 PODs were targeted to be held nationwide this year to aggressively promote the units to aspiring home buyers.

"To date, PR1MA had held 30 PODs and 26 mini PODs nationwide, the latter targeted for corporate and government offices.

"PR1MA will also open more sales galleries to make it easier for home buyers to view PR1MA products and facilitate the home purchasing process," he told a press conference, here, today.

Apart from the sales gallery headquarters in Oasis Ara Damansara, PR1MA currently has a sales gallery and office in Kuching, with future sales galleries to be set up in Melaka, Sabah and Perak.

Abdul Mutalib revealed that more than 1.4 million Malaysians registered with PR1MA as of April this year and 166,972 of them had applied for PR1MA housing units.

"To date, PR1MA Members of Corporation had approved the construction of 265,033 units of homes, with 139,419 currently under various stages of construction.

"Of that figure, 10,103 PR1MA housing units nationwide were booked, with 8,133 of them already through the sales and purchase agreement signing," he added.

Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia was established under the PR1MA Act 2012 to plan, develop, construct and maintain high-quality housing with lifestyle concepts for middle-income households in key urban centres.

Earmarked for development in key strategic urban areas nationwide, PR1MA is open to all Malaysians with a monthly household income of RM2,500 to RM15,000.
