Serene Heights Bangi Almost 100 Pct Sold

Last update: 23/05/2017

BANGI, May 23 (Bernama) -- Property developer, UEM Sunrise Bhd is upbeat on hitting a 100 per cent take-up rate for residential units in the first three phases of its Serene Heights mixed township development here by end-2018.

Currently, the double-storey terrace houses under Acacia has been completely sold out while Begonia and Camellia were 78 per cent and 88 per cent sold, respectively.

Group Chief Operating Officer, Datuk Roslan Ibrahim, was confident all units would be fully sold out, judging by the current positive response of the take-ups.

"We expect all three phases to be fully sold out by end-2018, as some of the potential buyers are keen to make purchases upon the completion of the houses," he said.

He said this in a media briefing on the development of the group's Serene Heights Bangi township here today.

On the slower take-up rate of Begonia, Roslan attributed it to the housing loan issues faced by potential buyers as it was the highest priced among the three projects.

"However, we have seen an increased demand for affordable landed residential developments despite tough economic conditions," he said.

The three phases cover a total area of 16.40 hectares (ha) with total gross development value (GDV) of RM287.5 million comprising 436 residential units. It is part of the 181.3ha Serene Heights development with a total GDV of RM3.4 billion.

Launched in June 2015 and November 2016, respectively, Acacia and Begonia are expected to be handed over in the first quarter of 2018, while Camellia, launched in August 2016, is expected to be handed over by end-2018.

Meanwhile, Serene Heights Bangi Project Manager Zulkifly Garib said the fourth phase, Dahlia, was expected to be launched in July this year.

"If the take-up rate is positive, it is possible for us to launch the fifth phase by year-end," he added.
