IJM Bags RM451 Mln Contract From UOB Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama)--IJM Corporation Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, secured a contract from UOB Properties (KL) Bhd worth RM451 million to build a new corporate office tower in Jalan Raja Laut here.

The construction will commence in August 2017 and it is expected to be completed in 40 months. The building is scheduled to take its place in Kuala Lumpur's skyline by early 2021.

"We are delighted to have been appointed by UOB Malaysia to deliver the full construction works of its new corporate office tower at its headquarters. Our in-depth experience and expertise will ensure that we can efficiently and effectively deliver," said IJM Corp Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Soam Heng Choon in a statement today.

The 29-storey and 193.5-metre-tall UOB Tower 2 will be located adjacent to the UOB Malaysia headquarters and both buildings will be connected by an elevated plaza.

The new building includes 27 levels of office space, two levels of podium for retail banking, one level of lower ground floor, five levels basement car park and a green lounge reception and sky lounge.

IJM's outstanding construction order book, including this project, currently stands at RM9 billion.
