SEREMBAN, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- The three-day Malaysia Property Expo Negeri Sembilan 2017 (MAPEX NS 2017) beginning Oct 6, will showcase some 4,316 properties worth RM2.25 billion.

Negeri Sembilan Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia (REHDA NS) Chairman Jenny Wang Lee Peng said 16 developers will be offering residential and commercial properties around Seremban, Sendayan, Seremban 2, Senawang, Sikamat, Mantau, Rasah, Rahang, Lukut and Port Dickson.

"Prices range from RM80,000 to RM3.3 million per unit. First time home buyers purchasing properties below RM300,000 are eligible for stamp duty exemption.

"REDHA NS also will be giving away product vouchers worth RM13,000 to 15 lucky buyers in the Grand Lucky Draw to be held on Oct 8," she told reporters at press conference here today.

Among the developers participating in the event are IJM Land, Matrix, Southville City, THP Hartanah, Oakland Holdings and SPNB Aspirasi.

Wang said for the first time, MAPEX will be collaborating with Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) to assist buyers in addressing difficulties in obtaining housing loans and assisting them in checking for loan eligibility.

"It is important that banks partner developers to support and assist buyers. We urge more financial institutions to join us to do this in future," she said, adding, the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) RAM Credit Info will also be present to offer assistance.

Meanwhile, BSN Senior Vice President/ Head Distribution, Akhsan Zaini said the bank's Youth Housing Scheme (YHS), is aimed at helping young buyers to purchase their first property.

"Our collaboration with REHDA is another milestone in efforts to help make homes more affordable to first time home buyers under the YHS," he added.

Akhsan said the YHS is open to the first 20,000 qualified applicants nationwide and to date, 4,100 applications had been approved.

YHS is offered both in the Conventional and Islamic Home Financing of up to 100 per cent of the purchase price, with further aid offered by the government at a monthly loan subsidy of RM200 per month, for the first two years to help youths repay loans.
