Lembah Subang 1 PPR to be redeveloped next year - Zuraida

Last update: 08/08/2018

PETALING JAYA, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) will redevelop the Lembah Subang 1 People's Housing Project (PPR) here next year, said its minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.

For this purpose, she said a committee would be formed to be headed by Lembah Jaya state assemblyman Haniza Mohamed Talha to monitor the redevelopment project involving 3,004 units in the eight housing blocks.

“Though the flats are about 18 years old, they have deteriorated faster than they should due to inefficient management.

"We are looking into various models and concepts to provide more comfortable homes according to the new National Housing Policy scheduled to be released in September," she told the media after meeting Lembah Subang 1 PPR residents today.

Currently, Zuraida said the ministry has implemented short-term programmes to address PPR residents’ problems involving repair of elevators, management of water and waste as well as security.

She also urged the establishment of a residents’ committee to consist of at least 10 members, to deal with residents’ concerns in the area.
