SEREMBAN, April 8 (Bernama) --Barisan Nasional (BN) Rantau state seat by-election candidate, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan welcomed the government's efforts to resolve delays in the completion of the 1Malaysia People’s Housing Scheme (PR1MA) project in the constituency.
He said assistance should not only be extended to this particular project but also to all government agency projects facing similar problems.
"That’s good. Several buyers, especially the salary earners who had taken loans from banks or the Public Sector Housing Financing Board, are feeling the burden right now," he told a press conference at the BN operation room here today.
Mohamad, who is also UMNO deputy president was commenting on a government statement that the project would be completed in May 2020 by the same contractor, Bina Terbit Sdn Bhd.
Meanwhile, Mohamad, who is also former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar, said the state government had the right to seize land belonging to individuals in the state if the land was acquired by dubious means during the previous government’s administration.
“Confiscate the land if there were breach of procedures in the land ownership. The state government has the right to do so. When I was the menteri besar land was not approved on personal capacity. So do investigate,” he said.
He was commenting on a statement made by state Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) chief Datuk Zulkefly Mohamad Omar, who during a Pakatan Harapan (PH) ceramah here yesterday claimed that Mohamad granted land to his cronies when he was the menteri besar.
