B-Land eyes to launch Tower B of The Tropika this year

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 -- Berjaya Land Bhd (B-Land) is targeting to launch its Tower B of The Tropika development project in Bukit Jalil by this year, driven by the HouzKEY initiative, in partnership with Maybank.

Senior general manager, property sales and marketing division, Tan Tee Ming said the current take-up rate for The Tropika Tower A is 70 per cent while the Tower B will be launched once the take-up rate of Tower A reaches 80 per cent.

“We launched Tower A in February this year and since then, we have sold off our small units. The HouzKEY initiative that we've partnered with Maybank is expected to drive further the take-up rate for The Tropika project,” he told reporters after the signing of agreement ceremony between Berjaya Golf Resort Bhd and Trendcell Sdn Bhd here today.

Berjaya Golf Resort, a subsidiary of B-Land has entered into a lease agreement with Trendcell, which will see Trendcell operate a Jaya Grocer store with food and beverage outlets a the commercial space of The Tropika, Bukit Jalil, measuring a total area of 23,695 square feet.

The management of Jaya Grocer, said Tan, adopts a very strategic and prudent approach in identifying a suitable location for its stores.

"As such, we are glad and honoured that The Tropika has been chosen as the location for its next store as this indicates that The Tropika is a premier location in Bukit Jalil," he added.

Trendcell's chief financial officer Chong Han Keong said the group has chosen to expand into The Tropika following ample consideration, due to its strategic location in Bukit Jalil.

"We are not just looking to provide the best grocery shopping experience to the resident of The Tropika but also extend the convenience to the surrounding Bukit Jalil community," he said.

The Tropika is a gated and guarded residence located on 2.63 hectares of freehold land in Bukit Jalil, with residential part consisted of 868 units within four towers with four different designed units.

The Tropika also has easy access to major highways and public transportation such as Rapid KL Bus and Light Rail Transit train services, as well as various established education institutions along with sporting and recreational facilities within proximity.
