Le Meridien Putrajaya Targets 60 Per Cent Occupancy Rate

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- Just- launched Le Meridien Putrajaya is optimistic of enjoying an occupancy rate of 60 per cent in the first twelve months of its operations.
General Manager Kumar Renoo said the target was achievable from corporate and government business activities and with tourists coming from Thailand, China, India, Taiwan and Middle East countries.
"This five-star hotel is also adjacent to IOI City Mall in Putrajaya and with that, we expect to woo the market," he told reporters after the official launch of Le Meridien Putrajaya here Thursday.
Regional Vice-President Southeast Asia, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific Charlie Dang said Le Meridien Putrajaya, marked the brand's third property in Malaysia after Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur and Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu.
"Malaysia continues to be a bright spot for our growth and development and after Le Meridien Putrajaya, we will open another new hotel in Kuala Lumpur between December and January 2017 depending on the timeline of completion," he said.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts currently operates 42 hotels in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
